trails are closed

our club trails are now closed due to the warm temps and snow cover. please respect our land owners and please do not ride on there property where there is little to no snow cover in there fields and pastures. i hope everyone had a great but short lived season.

trail conditions

due to the current temps, some of the fields, and roads have thin to bare conditions. Most of the trails are in good-fair condition, trails c7 from the outpost to artlake rd have not been groomed since friday night due to the temps. This section of trail will be groomed on thursday morning, along with s71 going towards the silo. trials c2 and s71 will be groomed tonight or tomarrow night. By the looks of the weather, this maybe the last time these trails get groomed until we get some colder temps.

new snow coming

the snow we have been waiting for.

The snow dance worked finally.

Just a reminder, with the new " wet heavy snow coming", it will be hard for the groomers to go right out and groom and make it flat, when you are riding the trail, try to ride to the right as much as possible, it will make the grooming alot easier, and please ride respectfully, always remember, the more you punch the gas, the moguls you will have to ride. once the trail is packed, the groomers will be out to make everything flat.

trail report/snow conditions

McDonough/ smithville are( c2,c7,s71) groomed friday night, trails are fair -good.( trail c7 to the outpost, ride carfully, no more grooming until more snow falls.)

trail s71 east from co. rt3 to junction and trail c2 from juntion east to silo, groomed thursday night, trail is poor - fair, ride at your own risk. very little snow cover some spots none.

i will post another report if we get any more snow this week.

s71 trail issue

at this time, trail s71 co rt 3 to the junction of c2 is closed for a short time. we are in the process of rerouting this trail. the old trail was damaged from logging and we where unaware of this problem before the ground froze. the good thing is that the new trail will be alot better for us, so keep checking the web site for updates. we should have it opened for the next round of riding.

trail conditions as of 1-3-2010

due to present snow conditions, riding our trails is not advised. If you wish to ride, you are at your own risk. all of the signs are not up yet due to landowner issues, those issues are now resolved, so the signing will be done by this weekend. if there is gates closed still, do not open them, they are closed for a reason still.

next trail work days.

we are having another trail work weekend on the 12th and 13th. we have signs to put up, two bridges to fix and one to put a whole new deck on, and a few other little projects to get done, so we need as many people as possible, time is ticking, it's not fun putting screws in and driving sign posts when it's 20degrees out.

whats new

theres a few things going on with the club to date. first of all, there is alot of trail work that needs to be done yet, along with the replacement of two bridges, so we need as much help as possible, out of the last two trail work weekends there was three people that showed up, so as much help as possilble is needed.

There is a new going on for the month of november, we are selling tickets now till the end of october, this is lottery raffle for the nightly pick three numbers. ticket sellers are needed. call bryan for info 656-8040

october 24th The chenango county snowmobile federation is hosting a sno-blast @ the plymouth fire house. there will be

-sled vendors

-chicken b-b-q ( cooked by the greene drift riders)

-swap meet

-and other great stuff

this event is from 9-4pm

our next meeting is going to be on oct. 7th @ 600pm @ the village bakery in greene

trail work to begin

workers needed The greene drift riders is planning on starting some trail work on the last two weekends of sept. We have a dozer coming in to do some dirt work and burry some stumps and other issues. We have trees and brush to cut as usual, and we need to put some drainage pipes in. As normal we need all the help we can get, so if you are interested in helping this year give me a call at 656-8040 bryan
